Stacie is a long standing resident of Hastings.  She moved here when she was 4 years old and graduated from St. Cecilia's.  After living in Dallas for 7 years after graduation she has now been back in Hastings for 15 years.
She has 3 daughters Ashanti(HHS Grad)- 19, Lilliana(HHS student)- 17 and Skylar(Watson student)-8.  She loves the public schools and all it has offered my children thus far.  The district offers some amazing programs and has great teachers.

She has been on the Wellspring Board for 5 years and has served as the Chair for the past 3.  She volunteers with the middle school girls at North Shore.  Through her business as a REALTOR she gives back to numerous non-profit programs in the community because she believes that through non-profits that is where you reach all the different concerns that arise.

"My stance on running for school board is I am a 'Mom on a Mission'.  I want to see students who thrive, teachers who are allowed to teach passionately and not just to 'standards' and a system that values parents voices and understands that parents are the parents and teachers are teachers."

Why run for the school board?

I have decided to run for the Hastings Public School Board because I want to see less standards introduced into the system.  Creating standards that teachers have to teach to only creates less time for teachers to teach the basics of what our kids are in school for.

I want to be the voice of parents and teachers on the school board, meaning that they can reach out and I will bring concerns to the board.  I will then communicate back what happened and if the concern is something the board even has jurisdiction to make any changes.

Why you want to vote for me?

I work well in groups.  I understand that we will be a group of adults coming together to share ideas and concerns brought to us and we will need to diplomatically come to a decision.  I vow to vote with the staff and students best interest in mind.

I am a researcher. I will come to the table with knowledge of the topics being discussed.

I do not see myself as political person, I am a conservative mom that wants to be the voice of all parents with morals and faith.  I think we need to come together and start standing up for what we believe in and not thinking that it will just go away.
                                 Thank you and God Bless!
