David was born and raised in Nebraska and comes from a family dedicated to public schools where his parents spent a combined 65 years working for public schools in the state.  After graduating from Ord High School, he attended and received his degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.  After a brief tenure with a bank in Southern California, David returned to the great state of Nebraska and has called Hastings home since 2005.  His wife, Alycia, has been an elementary special educator with Hastings Public Schools for over a decade (Morton / Alcott) and his son, Remington (6), is a Kindergartner at Watson Elementary.  His daughter, Reagan (4), looks forward to joining her big brother at Watson in the fall of 2023.

He has been in the finance industry for 25 years and is currently a Vice President at Pinnacle Bank in Hastings.  He believes in giving back to his community and currently serves on the Hastings Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (Treasurer), the YMCA Finance Committee, and helps teach Children’s Church at the Evangelical Free Church.  David does believe in full transparency and to that end, Children’s Church is a joint effort with Alycia doing most of the teaching while David keeps the preschoolers in line and provides “the muscle.”

David is excited for the opportunity to serve and firmly believes he is uniquely positioned to advocate for the students, parents, and staff of HPS based on his prior and ongoing exposure to public schools, his two decades of financial and business experience, and his ability to rationally discuss all sides of an issue while allowing individuals not only to speak, but to be heard.

It has been said that elections have consequences and David believes that an election directly impacting our children’s future is of the utmost importance.  He vows to protect our children from sexually inappropriate and racially divisive material, support our teachers, promote parents’ rights, and would be honored to have your vote as a conservative voice on the Hastings Public Schools Board of Education.
